## Editorial
The National Space Science Center (NSSC) is a research institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, originally established as the Center for Space Science and Applied Research (CSSAR) and renamed to NSSC in 2015.[^nssc-cas-intro][^ygxb-mwhs-design] The institute developed the Microwave Humidity Sounder (MWHS) and Microwave Temperature Sounder (MWTS) instruments carried aboard the FY-3 series of Chinese polar-orbiting meteorological satellites.[^ygxb-mwhs-design][^eoportal-fy3]
