VectorSurv is a vector-borne disease surveillance platform developed at the University of California, Davis, active since approximately 2006 as of available records.[^vectorsurv-org] It operates as a public university programme co-governed by a CalSurv Steering Committee comprising the Mosquito and Vector Control Association of California (MVCAC), the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and UC Davis.[^vectorsurv-org] VectorSurv is technically hosted and developed by the Barker Lab at UC Davis; it does not operate as an independent legal entity.[^nasa-applied-sciences-vectorsurv] The VectorSurv Gateway platform provides web-based data management and analysis for vector-borne disease surveillance, covering trap collections, pathogen testing, dead bird testing, and sentinel chicken serology.[^vectorsurv-org] As of 2026, the programme serves over 390 partner agencies across 36 US states and territories.[^vectorsurv-org] VectorSurv integrates NASA satellite-derived environmental data - including land surface temperature (LST), normalised difference vegetation index (NDVI), enhanced vegetation index (EVI), modified normalised difference water index (MNDWI), and precipitation - into mosquito habitat and arboviral risk models; it is an EO data consumer, not an EO operator or instrument developer.[^nasa-applied-sciences-vectorsurv] This EO integration was developed under a NASA Applied Sciences grant with PI Chris Barker of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.[^davis-enterprise-barker-nasa] The programme also offers a RESTful API for integration with third-party software.[^vectorsurv-org]
