## Editorial
Swarm Level 2 Magnetic Field Models are ESA scientific model products derived from the three-satellite Swarm mission's calibrated magnetic-field observations.[^esa-swarm-data-products][^esa-swarm-l2-daily] Level 2 products include scientific models of magnetic fields from different sources and upper-atmosphere phenomena, while the Swarm Level 2 Processor assimilates measurements from the constellation into final scientific products.[^esa-swarm-data-products][^gfz-swarm-products] The product family covers core, lithospheric, ionospheric, and magnetospheric magnetic-field models produced for ESA through the Swarm Level 2 processing system.[^beggan-2013]

The lithospheric-field members of the product family provide regional magnetic-anomaly context for solid-Earth studies and mineral exploration, especially when combined with geological, gravity, seismic, and airborne magnetic layers.[^beggan-2013][^esa-lithosphere-video] The products are not prospect-scale magnetic surveys. Their value for minerals is regional context: crustal magnetic structure, large geological boundaries, and anomaly patterns that help frame where higher-resolution surveys should be interpreted.[^beggan-2013] ESA and GFZ describe Swarm L1b and L2 products as freely available by FTP to ESA Earth Observation registered users under ESA data policy.[^gfz-swarm-products]
