## Editorial
EgyptSat-2, also known as MisrSat-2 or E-Star, was an Egyptian high-resolution optical remote-sensing satellite. It launched from Baikonur on 2014-04-16 aboard Soyuz-U and used the RSC Energia 559GK bus.[^energia-egyptsat-2][^gunter-egyptsat-2]

The optical payload provided panchromatic and multispectral imagery at 1 m panchromatic resolution and 4 m multispectral resolution across a 1400 km swath.[^gunter-egyptsat-2][^russian-spaceweb-egyptsat-2] The spacecraft launched to a 436 x 703 km orbit at 51.6 degrees and later raised its orbit to approximately 720 km via electric-propulsion circularisation.[^gunter-egyptsat-2][^russian-spaceweb-egyptsat-2] The mission ended after losing contact on 2015-04-14.[^gunter-egyptsat-2][^russian-spaceweb-egyptsat-2] Its applications include land-cover change, urban change, and disaster damage assessment.[^gunter-egyptsat-2]
