# Pixxel Firefly hyperspectral imager
*sensor . products*

Pushbroom VNIR hyperspectral imaging spectrometer, primary payload on Pixxel's six-satellite Firefly constellation. Designed, built, and integrated in-house by Pixxel at its MegaPixxel facility in Bengaluru. Captures 135 contiguous bands from 470 to 900 nm at 5.4 m native GSD and a 40 km swath. A material delivery constraint: users select up to 45 of the 135 bands per capture; only the selected 45 are downlinked per scene. Atmospheric correction via piSOFIT, Pixxel's implementation of NASA JPL ISOFIT using a neural-network MODTRAN emulator with per-pixel Bayesian uncertainty estimates. All 6 Firefly satellites (FFLY 1-3 launched January 2025, FFLY 4-6 launched August 2025) are operational as of May 2026. NASA CSDA program vendor, contract through November 2028.
