## Editorial
VISSR-II, also listed as S-VISSR, is a five-channel visible, mid-wave infrared, water-vapour, and thermal-infrared spin-scan radiometer flown on late FY-2 geostationary meteorological satellites.[^nsmc-vissr-2][^wmo-s-vissr-fy2fgh] Its channel set comprises one visible band at 0.55-0.99 um, one 3.5-4.0 um mid-wave infrared band, one 6.3-7.6 um water-vapour band, and two split-window thermal infrared bands at 10.3-11.3 um and 11.5-12.5 um.[^wmo-s-vissr-fy2fgh] The visible channel has 1.25 km resolution, while the infrared channels have 5 km resolution.[^wmo-s-vissr-fy2fgh] Full-disk repeat coverage is every 30 minutes.[^wmo-s-vissr-fy2fgh] VISSR-II has demonstrated use for atmospheric motion vectors through cloud and water-vapour feature tracking.[^wmo-s-vissr-fy2fgh]
