Geoscience Australia is Australia's national geoscience agency, responsible for government geoscience, spatial data, and Earth observation ground-segment services.[1] In EO, it operates the Alice Springs Satellite Ground Station and supports regional reception and distribution of Landsat, NOAA, Terra/Aqua, Copernicus Sentinel, and Suomi-NPP data.[2] GA also runs national satellite-data analysis services using long archives of Landsat and Sentinel observations for Australian government, industry, and community users.[3] Its space role combines ground infrastructure, positioning, and data services: GA operates SouthPAN signal and positioning infrastructure, while the GEO spacecraft capacity is leased transponder capacity rather than a GA-owned or GA-operated satellite.[2][4]
