Solar energy siting and monitoring
Solar energy siting and monitoring combines solar-resource layers, terrain and land constraints, and asset context to screen PV and concentrating-solar locations and monitor operating portfolios.[1][2][3] NREL NSRDB provides satellite-derived GHI, DNI, DHI, and meteorological data for solar-resource assessment.[1] NREL solar maps derive multiyear solar irradiance from NSRDB and related atmospheric satellite inputs.[2] Global Solar Atlas outputs include GHI, DNI, PV power potential, and related long-term-average layers for global screening.[3] Typical outputs include GHI, DNI, GTI resource layers, PV power potential, site constraints, asset detection, and performance context at parcel to national-planning scale.[1][2][3]
