Inland water
Inland water monitoring tracks lake, river, reservoir, and wetland level, extent, storage, discharge proxies, water quality, and hydrological anomalies.[1][2][3] Satellite radar altimetry has supported inland water applications for decades across lakes, reservoirs, rivers, and wetlands.[1][2] Inland water monitoring often combines water-level observations with open-water extent or other remote-sensing data to infer storage or hydrological conditions.[1][2] Freshwater quality and harmful bloom indicators use optical water-colour measurements such as chlorophyll-a and phycocyanin.[3][4] Optically complex inland waters need local algorithms and validation for freshwater quality products.[3]
