Saudi Space Agency is Saudi Arabia's national space agency, with agency status dating to June 2023 after the earlier Saudi Space Commission structure.[1] Its public leadership history includes Muhammad al-Tamimi as acting CEO from 2021 to May 2025, before his move to the National Emergency Management Authority.[2][3] For EO buyers, SSA should not be treated as the owner of SaudiSat-5A/5B or as an EO operator on the basis of SHAMS: SaudiSat-5A/5B are KACST Earth observation programmes, and SHAMS is a space-weather CubeSat rather than an EO satellite.[4][5]
