United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs

The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs is a United Nations agency based at the Vienna International Centre in Vienna, Austria.^[1]

Its mandate covers the peaceful use of outer space, and its operational roles include serving as secretariat to the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, maintaining the Register of Objects Launched into Outer Space, running the Programme on Space Applications, hosting a disaster-management and emergency-response platform, and supporting the International Committee on GNSS.^[1] For EO and space-infrastructure stakeholders, UNOOSA is a governance, coordination, and capacity-building body for UN space applications, space-object registration, satellite navigation coordination, and disaster-management support.^[1]
