United States Space Force

U.S. military service responsible for space operations, including current DMSP authority in public mission records.

The United States Space Force is a U.S. military space service and environmental-sensing mission authority.[1] Its Earth-observation and environmental data role includes the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program, which provides secure global weather and space-weather data for defence operations.[1] DMSP capabilities include visual and infrared cloud imagery, atmospheric profiles and space-weather measurements.[1] The service role in this area is defence weather and space-weather mission operation rather than commercial imagery sales or civilian analytics provision.[1]
