Sich-2 was a Ukrainian passive-optical Earth-observation satellite for national surface imaging.[1] It launched on 2011-08-17 on Dnepr from the Yasny/Dombarovskiy launch site and operated in Sun-synchronous low Earth orbit as object 2011-044G / NORAD 37794.[1][2] The mission used the MS-2-8 bus and carried an optical Earth-observation imager for land imaging.[1] Ground communication stopped on 2012-12-12 after battery failure, ending the mission while the object remained in orbit.[1][2]
