Flight-grade onboard data processing unit purpose-built for EO workloads (hyperspectral reduction, cloud masking, change detection).
Leopard is a KP Labs Data Processing Unit for micro and mini satellites in a compact PC/104-compatible CubeSat form factor.[1] Leopard uses Zynq UltraScale+ ZU6EG, ZU9EG, or ZU15EG processing-core options with quad ARM Cortex-A53, dual lock-step Cortex-R5, and FPGA fabric.[1] Leopard has 4-16 GiB DDR4 with ECC, 4-16 GiB SLC flash file-system storage with EDAC, and up to 2x256 GiB SLC data storage.[1] The unit supports CAN, LVDS, SPI, RS422/485, UART, GTY/GTH transceivers, and custom SpaceWire or Ethernet options.[1] Leopard provides up to 3 TOPS for onboard AI processing and supports 64-bit Linux, deep-learning acceleration, and in-orbit reconfiguration.[1] Intuition-1 launched in November 2023 with a Leopard DPU and demonstrated onboard hyperspectral processing, cloud filtering, segmentation, object detection, and 3 TOPS processing in orbit.[2]
