Landcover Diagnosis

Landcover Diagnosis is a satellite-derived land-cover change and soil artificialisation monitoring service from Meteory, designed for local territorial planning. The service tracks land-cover class transitions and trends in soil artificialisation (conversion of non-urban land to built-up use) over time, supporting French municipalities and agglomerations in monitoring progress toward ZCSNAF (zero net land take) policy targets. ^[1] Outputs include time-series land-cover maps and artificialisation trend indicators. Landcover Diagnosis is one of eleven environmental indicators bundled in the Meteory SaaS platform. Meteory is an ESA BIC Noordwijk incubatee that raised EUR 550k pre-seed in 2023. ^[2] The specific satellite data sources and classification methodology underpinning the service are not publicly disclosed by the operator. ^[3]
