RECON uses continuous satellite monitoring to detect operational changes before supply-chain disruptions.
RECON is the continuous monitoring layer in the OpenAtlas supply chain intelligence stack. It applies optical time-series change detection to satellite imagery acquired at high frequency over specific supplier facility coordinates, detecting operational status changes that signal supply chain disruption risk. OpenAtlas states an 8-week predictive lead time on potential disruptions, though the satellite constellation and revisit cadence used are not publicly disclosed.[1] RECON extends the change-detection methodology used in the EUDR-focused Vantage product line to broader supply chain operational monitoring, serving procurement risk management and operational continuity use cases. The service is API-native and designed for integration into enterprise risk management systems. RECON forms the third pillar of the TERRAIN/RANGER/RECON platform operated by OpenAtlas BV, based in the Netherlands and an ESA BIC Noordwijk incubatee since January 2025.[2]
