Readar provides solar-panel presence and potential information derived from aerial imagery.
Readar Solar Panel Detection is an aerial-imagery-based service that maps solar panel presence and assesses solar installation potential at address level across the Netherlands and Belgium.
Two output datasets are produced from the same ML pipeline: one recording where solar panels are already installed on rooftops, and one estimating solar potential for properties without installations. Detection applies ML classification to licensed aerial photographs, with processing available in fully automatic mode or semi-automatic mode where algorithm-flagged candidates are reviewed by human taggers to meet required confidence levels.
Customers use the data for energy-transition planning and lead generation (energy companies and installation businesses), subsidy monitoring (municipalities), premium adjustment (property insurers), and grid capacity planning (grid operators).[1][2]
