DikeScan

DikeScan is an InSAR ground-deformation monitoring service from Sensar designed for water boards managing dike safety and reinforcement programmes.^[1] The service measures millimetre-scale settlement along dike longitudinal profiles at 10-metre segments using repeat satellite radar acquisitions, supporting reinforcement design, construction-phase monitoring, and long-term settlement archiving.^[2]

Measurement data feeds settlement trend models that project future altitude changes and trigger alerts when trends deviate or approach defined thresholds.^[1] This allows water boards to act on objective deformation signals rather than scheduled inspection cycles alone.

DikeScan has been applied to major dike reinforcement projects in the Netherlands. Hoogheemraadschap de Stichtse Rijnlanden reported savings exceeding EUR 1 million on the Lekdijk project through early identification of stable sections that did not require planned reinforcement works.^[1]
