Sentinel-2 Platform is the Airbus Defence and Space spacecraft platform used for the Copernicus Sentinel-2 missions.[1] ESA describes each Sentinel-2 satellite as having a launch mass of about 1,140 kg and carrying the MultiSpectral Instrument for high-resolution optical imaging.[1] ESA operations material places Sentinel-2 in a sun-synchronous orbit at 786 km altitude.[2] ESA facts and figures material gives spacecraft power of about 1,700 W for Sentinel-2.[1] ESA describes the Sentinel-2 mission as providing systematic global coverage for land and coastal monitoring with five-day revisit at the equator using the two-satellite configuration.[1]
