Smallest variant in the HyperScout VNIR hyperspectral family from cosine Research BV. Covers 450-950 nm VNIR (satsearch tier-4; cosine product page unavailable at research time). Reported 30 m GSD (secondary source). Band count 45 inferred from HyperScout family pattern (HS1 45-band VNIR, HS2 45-band VNIR); not independently confirmed for S-variant. Shares athermal telescope architecture, BEE/OBDH, MMU, and ICU of the HyperScout family. Produced on order; planned integration into cosine production line.

Sensor

HyperScout S is the smallest variant in the HyperScout VNIR hyperspectral sensor family, developed by cosine Research BV. The instrument covers the VNIR spectral range from 450 to 950 nm. According to third-party aggregator material available as of May 2026, the sensor achieves a ground sample distance of 30 m[1]; cosine's own product page was unavailable at research time and these figures have not been verified against datasheet or tier-1 documentation.

The instrument's band count has not been independently confirmed for the S-variant. The HyperScout family pattern (HS1 and HS2 each carrying 45 VNIR bands) suggests a similar count for the S-variant, but this inference has not been corroborated by a cosine primary source.

HyperScout S shares the athermal telescope architecture, back-end electronics and on-board data handling (BEE/OBDH), mass memory unit (MMU), and instrument control unit (ICU) common to the broader HyperScout family. The sensor is produced on order and is planned for integration into cosine's production line.[2]
