USGS Spectral Library Version 7

The USGS Spectral Library Version 7 (Kokaly et al. 2017, Data Series 1035) is the canonical open-access collection of laboratory, field, and airborne reflectance spectra for minerals, rocks, soils, coatings, liquids, organic compounds, vegetation, and artificial materials. It is the primary reference end-member library for spaceborne mineral mapping workflows including EMIT L2B, ASTER-based alteration mapping, and EnMAP mineral abundance retrieval.

The USGS Spectral Library Version 7 (splib07, Kokaly et al. 2017) is an open-access collection of laboratory, field, and airborne reflectance spectra for minerals, rocks, soils, coatings, liquids, organic compounds, vegetation, and artificial materials, published by the USGS Spectroscopy Lab.[1] The library spans wavelengths from the ultraviolet through the thermal infrared and provides reference spectra that serve as end-member inputs for spectral unmixing and mineral identification algorithms.[2] Version 7 data are available for direct download.[3] Splib07 serves as an end-member reference for spaceborne mineral mapping workflows including ASTER-based hydrothermal alteration mapping.[1]
