Digital Earth Africa is a pan-African Earth observation data programme that provides analysis-ready satellite data and derived products for African users.[1] Its public catalogue includes Landsat, Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 analysis-ready data, Water Observations from Space, Coastlines and Cropland Extent products.[1] The programme is in Phase III and uses formal governance through a Governing Board and Technical Advisory Committee, with foundation, government and in-kind support recorded by the programme.[1] Formal governance traces to a 2018 steering committee, while later programme history records Phase II from 2019 to 2023 and the current Phase III; this separates the governance launch from later operating phases.[2][1] Digital Earth Africa moved from an Australia-hosted setup toward African-owned and run operations, while retaining Open Data Cube architecture as the technical basis for its data platform.[3]
