EarthDaily Analytics

EarthDaily Analytics (EarthDaily) is a Canadian commercial EO operator and analytics company headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia. Formed in April 2021 by private equity firm Antarctica Capital from the assets of bankrupt UrtheCast, EarthDaily is building the EarthDaily Constellation, a planned 10-satellite multispectral smallsat constellation designed to image the entire Earth's landmass daily at 5-metre resolution across 22 spectral bands spanning visible, near-infrared, shortwave infrared, and thermal wavelengths.^[1][2]

The constellation design centres on 16 optical imaging assemblies per satellite, manufactured by ABB Measurement and Analytics, mounted on Loft Orbital Longbow platforms derived from the Airbus Arrow bus. Orbital altitude is cited as approximately 630 km in a sun-synchronous orbit per eoPortal^[1]; the EarthDaily homepage tool states 594 km,^[3] which may reflect a different programme phase or measurement point. The 240 km swath and consistent solar geometry prioritise temporal consistency and radiometric stability over spatial resolution, making the data inherently suitable for change detection and machine learning workflows.^[2]

As of May 2026, seven satellites are on orbit: EDC-01 launched June 2025 and EDC-02 through EDC-07 launched May 3 2026, with early data available from February 2026 and full operational capability targeted for late 2026.^[4][3] The company delivers analysis-ready data (AiRD) pre-processed to science-quality standards and aligned to the Sentinel-2 grid, enabling use alongside Landsat and Sentinel-2 historical archives.^[5]

In October 2024, EarthDaily acquired Descartes Labs, adding an established base of analytics products and customers in insurance (Ascend), mining (Marigold, Iris), and US defense and intelligence (Retina, Wayfinder via EarthDaily Federal). Customer traction in the defense sector is evidenced by an eight-figure data subscription agreement announced April 2026 and a 1.2 million USD NRO contract awarded May 2026 to evaluate multispectral commercial imagery integration into intelligence architectures.^[6][4]

EarthDaily's primary market focus is agriculture (crop health, yield forecasting, parametric insurance) alongside defense, mining, and forestry risk monitoring, sectors where daily revisit and radiometric consistency translate directly into product value.^[5]
