SpaceKnow

SpaceKnow is a New York-based satellite imagery analytics company, incorporated as SpaceKnow, Inc. Founded in 2013 by Pavel Machalek and Jerry Javornicky, with an office in Prague, Czech Republic. The company operates as an analytics platform, aggregating optical and SAR imagery from multiple third-party satellite operators rather than owning or operating satellites. Its SpaceKnow Guardian platform applies AI and machine learning to multi-source imagery for object detection, change detection, construction monitoring, and deforestation tracking.^[1] SpaceKnow also produces economic intelligence products, including the China Satellite Manufacturing Index, which derives measures of industrial activity from satellite imagery of Chinese manufacturing facilities.^[1] In January 2017 the company raised a Series A round of $5.45 million led by BlueYard Capital, Reflex Capital, and Taiwania Capital.^[2] Customers include financial institutions, defence and intelligence organisations, and environmental monitoring programmes. A developer API is offered for custom analytics integrations.^[1]
