Dutch space-education company providing online STEM courses and remote access to ground-station exercises using real satellite signals and weather-satellite/Earth-observation data; EO-adjacent rather than a core EO data provider.

Turtle Island Space is a Dutch space-education company headquartered at SBIC Building, Kapteynstraat 1, Noordwijk, Netherlands, and founded by Brian Treacy.[1] The company provides online STEM courses and remote access to ground-station exercises using real satellite signals and weather-satellite data, targeting university students, schools and individual learners.

The Turtle Island Space online platform offers courses covering satellites, ground stations, space communications and Earth-observation concepts through practical exercises.[2] The Command and Tracking Tool gives users access to the GS-SBIC-1M2 L-band ground station at SBIC Noordwijk, where they can select passes for NOAA, Metop, Meteosat and Elektro-L weather satellites and practice signal capture and data decoding.[3] Additional ground stations were listed as planned on the operator datasheet as of the 2026-06-08 access date.[4] Service tiers include Outreach, Academic and Single-User packages.[5]

Turtle Island Space completed ESA BIC Noordwijk incubation from 2023 to 2025.[6][7] Partners and supporters include ESA BIC Noordwijk, with educational users from Inholland Delft, Nanosatellite Missions Design LTD and the University of Birmingham cited on the operator homepage.[5]

The company's relevance to Earth observation is ancillary: Turtle Island Space enables students to interact with weather-satellite and EO data through its ground-station access tools but does not operate satellites or supply commercial EO data products.
