KazSTSAT is a 105 kg Kazakhstan smallsat for Earth observation and technology demonstration, launched on SpaceX Falcon 9 from Vandenberg on 2018-12-03 into a 575 km sun-synchronous orbit [1][2]. Its payload set includes an 18.7 m ground-sampling EO imager with 275 km swath, a beyond-diffraction-limit imager, a sun sensor, and an OBCARM demonstration unit [1]. The mission also demonstrated a virtualized S/X-band ground segment using software-defined back-ends at KSAT Svalbard and an Astana demonstration station [1].
