COSMIC-EYE Area Monitoring

COSMIC-EYE Area Monitoring is a satellite surveillance service from Orbital Eye that detects and tracks activity around critical assets, remote sites, and sensitive regions where traditional aerial or ground patrol is constrained. The service fuses Sentinel-1 C-band SAR with multispectral and high-resolution optical imagery, providing all-weather, day-night monitoring capability.^[1] SAR change detection and backscatter analysis identify activity of interest; optical and multispectral imagery add contextual detail. Orbital Eye states 90 to 95 percent accuracy in risk identification and claims insights delivered days ahead of traditional monitoring methods, though no independent peer-reviewed validation of these figures has been found.^[2] The service reduces false alarms through automated smart filtering and delivers actionable alerts via a web platform and API integration. Use cases include pipeline network area surveillance, power and grid infrastructure perimeter monitoring, critical asset protection, and activity monitoring in remote regions. Orbital Eye BV is based in Delft, Netherlands, and has been an ESA Business Applications network member since its ESA BIC Noordwijk incubation in 2012-2013.^[3]
