Advanced Image Processing is a Simera Sense processing service for L0-to-L1C image processing with vicarious geometric and radiometric calibration following ESA EDAP+ best-practice guidance.
Advanced Image Processing is a ground-segment processing service from Simera Sense that takes raw sensor data from the xScape50, xScape100, and xScape200 instrument families and produces calibrated, orthorectified image products ready for downstream analysis.[1] The service covers the full L0-to-L1C chain: decompression and GPS synchronisation at L0, radiometric correction and georeferencing at L1B, and orthorectification to a projected L1C orthoready product.
Calibration follows ESA EDAP+ best practice guidelines and is performed jointly with VITO Remote Sensing, which provides the underlying processing software and vicarious calibration expertise.[2] In-flight radiometric calibration uses Libya-4, Niger-2, and RadCalNet reference sites alongside dark-current updates from night-orbit acquisitions. Geometric accuracy is achieved through bundle adjustment with ground control points. Cross-validation against Sentinel-2A and Sentinel-2B provides an independent radiometric consistency check.[1]
The service is available as Software-as-a-Service and is intended for satellite operators using Simera Sense instruments who require mission-grade calibrated products rather than rapid-turnaround pre-flight-coefficient imagery.[2]
