Shared KACST spacecraft platform for the SaudiSat-5A and SaudiSat-5B high-resolution Earth-observation satellites.
SaudiSat-5 bus is the shared KACST platform for SaudiSat-5A and SaudiSat-5B. The two spacecraft were developed and manufactured at KACST and operated from a KACST control station.[1] Each spacecraft is listed at 425 kg, placing the platform in the mini orbital class.[2] The satellites provide high-resolution Earth-observation imagery from low Earth orbit for government uses, with a hyperspectral imaging mission context replacing earlier SaudiSat-2 and SaudiSat-3 capability.[3][2]
