ISIS VHF/UHF Full Duplex Transceiver

The ISIS VHF/UHF Full Duplex Transceiver (TRXUV/TRXVU) is a CubeSat TT&C communications subsystem providing full-duplex telemetry, telecommand, and beacon operation on commercial and amateur VHF/UHF bands.^[1] The product is available in UHF-uplink/VHF-downlink and VHF-uplink/UHF-downlink configurations, with in-flight reconfigurable data rates and frequencies, and an FM transponder mode.^[1] Flight heritage dates from 2016 per the ISISPACE brochure.^[1]

Representative frequency ranges from the 2021 ISISPACE products brochure show the transmitter operating at 435-438 MHz or 400.15-402 MHz and the receiver operating at 145.8-146 MHz and 148-150.05 MHz, with the specific frequency plan determined by the selected uplink/downlink and regulatory band configuration.^[2]

The unit draws 0.48 W in receiver-only mode and 4 W with the transmitter active, operating from a 6.5-20 V DC supply.^[1] Mass is 75 g and the board dimensions are 90 x 96 x 15 mm.^[1] RF interfaces use MMCX connectors at 50 ohm, and the data interface is I2C.^[1] Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 deg C.^[1]
