Short-wave infrared multispectral imager in a 2.5U CubeSat form factor. Four SWIR bands from 1000 to 1750 nm at 8.7 m GSD (500 km), 11.2 km swath. Targets methane and CO2 atmospheric column retrieval, with secondary applications in precision agriculture and disaster monitoring. Three units ordered by LatConnect 60 for the SWIRSAT constellation (2026 launch target).

Sensor

The Chameleon SWIR Imager is a four-band short-wave infrared multispectral sensor in a 2.5U CubeSat form factor, manufactured by Dragonfly Aerospace. It covers 1000 to 1750 nm and delivers 8.7 m ground sample distance with an 11.2 km swath from 500 km altitude.[1] Individual band centre wavelengths within that range are not available from accessible public sources; SatCatalog and eoPortal both confirm the four-band configuration and 1000-1750 nm range without per-band detail.[2]

The imager targets atmospheric column retrieval of methane and carbon dioxide, with secondary applications in precision agriculture and disaster monitoring. Three units have been ordered by LatConnect 60 for the SWIRSAT constellation, targeting launch in 2026 from a 500 km, 45-degree inclined orbit.[2]
