Simera Sense 1.5U CubeSat VNIR hyperspectral imager using a continuously variable optical filter (CVOF). 32 user-configured bands per acquisition selected from 400 available spectral positions across 460-860 nm. 4.75 m GSD at 500 km, 19.4 km swath, 12-bit, 4096 pixels across-track, 5.5 um pixel size, 1-to-8-stage digital TDI per band. The 400-band figure is the filter's available spectral resolution; each acquisition delivers 32 bands.

Sensor

HyperScape100 is a 1.5U CubeSat VNIR hyperspectral imager from Simera Sense (South Africa) that uses a continuously variable optical filter (CVOF) for spectral selection. The filter provides 400 available spectral positions across 460-860 nm; each acquisition delivers 32 user-configured bands selected from those positions.[1] Third-party listing satsearch references more than 1,000 hyperspectral bands for the instrument[2], a figure that appears to use different terminology or reflect a different product revision; the operator datasheet specifies 32 acquired bands per pass from 400 filter positions.[3]

The instrument operates at 4.75 m ground sample distance at 500 km altitude across a 19.4 km swath, with 4,096 pixels across-track, 5.5 um pixel size, 12-bit quantisation, and 1-to-8-stage digital time-delay integration (TDI) per band.[3]

Flight heritage and named missions carrying HyperScape100 have not been independently confirmed as of 2026-05-25 per operator support documentation.
