Four-channel VIS/SWIR/TIR radiometer listed by WMO OSCAR and CEOS as an HJ-2B payload for land observation and natural-disaster monitoring.
Infrared Multispectral Scanner - 2 is a four-channel passive optical radiometer for VIS/SWIR and thermal-infrared land imaging. It uses a pushbroom design with three VIS/SWIR bands from 500 to 2350 nm at 40 m sampling and one thermal band from 10.4 to 12.5 um at 80 m, with a 120 km swath, 26-day global coverage cycle and 17 Mbps data rate.[1] The 120 km IRMSS-2 configuration is distinct from the HJ wide-swath configuration, which has different spectral-region grouping, swath and sampling specifications.[1]
