MetaSensing MetaSAR-X airborne X-band synthetic aperture radar.
MetaSAR-X is an airborne X-band synthetic aperture radar developed by MetaSensing, with a chirp bandwidth exceeding 1.4 GHz and fully polarimetric stripmap resolution of 0.25 m in range and azimuth. The centre frequency is in the X-band and, based on operator reporting, falls within the standard X-band allocation; the exact value has not been confirmed from a publicly accessible datasheet. Supported acquisition modes include fully polarimetric stripmap, along-track interferometry, and cross-track interferometry. MetaSAR-X has been deployed on manned aircraft for high-resolution surveillance and monitoring campaigns; an imaging programme over the Port of Rotterdam demonstrated repeated 0.25 m acquisitions with roughly 1.5-hour revisit over two days for vessel traffic and harbour change detection.[1][2][3]
