PlanetScope eight-band SuperDove instrument generation used for current Planet Dove monitoring.
SuperDove is Planet's PSB.SD and PSBlue eight-band PlanetScope instrument generation for current monitoring. It is a passive optical multispectral frame imager, with 3.7 m native GSD and 32.5 km swath used for the SuperDove generation. [1] [2]
The eight SuperDove bands are Coastal Blue at 443 nm, Blue at 490 nm, Green I at 531 nm, Green at 565 nm, Yellow at 610 nm, Red at 665 nm, Red Edge at 705 nm, and NIR at 865 nm, with listed FWHM values for each band. [1]
Six of the eight bands are intended to be interoperable with Sentinel-2 bands, and vegetation-index mapping is demonstrated for the PlanetScope SuperDove context. SuperDove imagery is available from mid-March 2020 to current monitoring as of 2026-06-16. [1]
