Wide-swath panchromatic and multispectral camera flown on CBERS-4A.
CBERS-4A Wide Swath Panchromatic and Multispectral Camera is the WPM passive optical payload flown on CBERS-4A, separate from the CBERS-4 PANMUX instrument.[1] It acquires a 450 to 900 nm panchromatic band at 2 m spatial resolution and four blue, green, red, and near-infrared multispectral bands spanning 450 to 890 nm at 8 m spatial resolution.[1] The panchromatic and multispectral arms are acquired simultaneously across a 92 km swath.[1]
The camera has no side-looking mirror, 31-day revisit, 10-bit quantization, and gross data rates of 1800.8 Mbit/s and 450.2 Mbit/s for the WPM data streams.[1] WPM reference data carries the same 2 m panchromatic, 8 m multispectral, 92 km swath, and blue/green/red/NIR multispectral channel configuration.[2] Use of WPM on CBERS-4A is demonstrated for vegetation index mapping and optical time-series change detection.[1][3]
