Simera Sense 1.5U CubeSat optical payload family for high-resolution Earth observation. Primary multispectral variant (MultiScape100) delivers 8-band VNIR imagery (1 panchromatic + 7 bands, 450-900 nm) at 4.75 m GSD from 500 km, 19.4 km swath, 12-bit, 4096 pixels across-track, 32-stage digital TDI. TriScape100 RGB/video variant and HyperScape100 hyperspectral variant share the same 1.5U platform.

Sensor

The xScape100 is a 1.5U CubeSat optical payload platform from Simera Sense, designed for high-resolution Earth observation from small satellite buses. Three spectral configurations share the same mechanical envelope: TriScape100 (RGB/video), MultiScape100 (multispectral with digital TDI), and HyperScape100 (hyperspectral).[1]

All 1.5U variants share the same optical train: 580 mm focal length, 95 mm aperture, 4096-pixel CMOS global shutter sensor at 5.5 um pixel pitch, 4.75 m GSD at 500 km altitude, 19.4 km swath, and 2.22 degree across-track field of view. Physical dimensions are 176.5 x 98.3 x 98.3 mm at 1.26 kg.[2]

The TriScape100 is the RGB snapshot and video variant. It records 4096 x 3072 pixels (12.6 MP) through an RGB Bayer pattern with NIR cut-off (450-670 nm), 10-bit depth, and supports 1080p30 video; 2.75 W idle, 6.75 W imaging.[3]

The MultiScape100 is the multispectral variant. It exposes 8 VNIR bands (1 panchromatic plus 7 spectral bands from 450-900 nm) at 12-bit depth with 32-stage digital TDI per band for sensitivity gain; 3.25 W idle, 7.00 W imaging.[2]

The HyperScape100 is the hyperspectral variant. It uses a Continuously Variable Optical Filter (CVOF) spanning 460-860 nm, delivering 32 user-configurable bands selected from 400 available spectral positions at 3.5% FWHM bandwidth per band. TDI is 1-8 stages per band individually. Power is 4.00 W idle, 7.75 W imaging. All variants carry 128 GB EDAC-protected NAND flash and are rated fully functional to 15 kRad, -10 deg C to +50 deg C.[4]

Named customer missions include a MultiScape100 selected by ISISpace as primary payload on a 6U CubeSat Earth observation mission (2019 contract), enabling multispectral imagery below 5 m GSD.[5] The OPS-SAT VOLT technology demonstrator, led by Craft Prospect under ESA, integrates a HyperScape100 with a KP Labs Leopard DPU for onboard AI-driven spectral processing.[6]
