Simera Sense 12U CubeSat optical payload family for high-resolution Earth observation. Primary multispectral variant (MultiScape200) delivers 8-band VNIR imagery (1 panchromatic + 7 bands, 450-900 nm) at 1.5 m GSD from 500 km, 14 km swath, 12-bit, 8192 pixels across-track, 32-stage digital TDI. TriScape200 RGB/video variant on the same 12U platform at 65.4 MP (9344 x 7000 pixels).
The xScape200 is a 12U CubeSat optical payload platform from Simera Sense, designed for sub-2 m Earth observation from medium-format small satellite buses. Two spectral configurations share the same 12U mechanical envelope: TriScape200 (RGB/video) and MultiScape200 (multispectral with digital TDI).[1]
Both 12U variants share the same optical train: 1067 mm focal length, 190 mm aperture, CMOS global shutter sensor at 3.2 um pixel pitch, 1.5 m GSD at 500 km altitude, 14 km swath, and 1.6 degree across-track field of view. Physical dimensions are 311 x 216 x 216 mm at 12.31 kg. Both variants carry 128 GB EDAC-protected NAND flash and are rated fully functional to 15 kRad, -10 deg C to +50 deg C.[2]
The TriScape200 is the RGB snapshot and video variant. It uses an RGB Bayer pattern with NIR cut-off (450-670 nm) across a 9344 x 7000 pixel sensor (65.4 MP), at 10-bit depth, with optional H.264 1080p30 video. No TDI is applied on this variant. Power draw is 2.50 W idle, 6.75 W imaging.[2]
The MultiScape200 is the multispectral variant with digital TDI. It exposes 8 VNIR bands across 8192 pixels across-track (1 panchromatic band from 500-750 nm plus 7 spectral bands from 450-900 nm) at 12-bit depth with 1-32 stages of digital TDI per band individually configurable. Power draw is 3.25 W idle, 7.00 W imaging.[3]
The MultiScape200 was selected by LatConnect60 (Australia) for the SWIRSAT mission, a high-resolution carbon-emissions monitoring programme funded in part by the Australian Space Agency. The payload delivers 1.5 m GSD 8-band imagery and is scheduled to launch in India in December 2026.[4] The 1.5 m GSD at 12U volume makes the xScape200 the highest-resolution product in the Simera Sense xScape platform family, targeting applications that require sub-2 m detail from CubeSat-class platforms.
