AAC Clyde Space

AAC Clyde Space AB (publ) is a Swedish small satellite manufacturer and SDaaS operator listed on Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market, Stockholm. The group operates three commercial lines: a subsystem component catalogue, full-satellite prime contracting, and Space-Data-as-a-Service where AAC owns and operates satellites and sells data subscriptions. Key programmes include the VIREON multispectral constellation and the EUR 76.3M EPS-Sterna microwave radiometer subcontract via subsidiary AAC Omnisys.

AAC Clyde Space AB (publ) is a Swedish small satellite manufacturer and operator listed on Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market, Stockholm (ticker: AAC). The group was formed in 2019 from the merger of ÅAC Microtec AB (Uppsala, founded 2005 as an Angstrom Laboratory spin-off) and Clyde Space Ltd (Glasgow, founded 2005), and has since grown through five further acquisitions: SpaceQuest (USA, 2020), Hyperion Technologies (Netherlands, 2020), Omnisys Instruments (Sweden, 2021), AAC Space Africa (Cape Town, 2021, greenfield), and Spacemetric AB (Sweden, 2024).[^aac-home][^wiki-aac]

The group operates three go-to-market motions. The subsystem component catalogue (electrical power systems, ADCS, propulsion, on-board computers, and communications hardware) addresses the wider small satellite market and includes the Starbuck-Nano CubeSat EPS (TRL 9, flown since 2014) and Hyperion-derived ADCS and propulsion units.[^aac-home] Prime contracting covers full mission design, manufacture, launch, and operations for customers who do not wish to own assets; the EPIC VIEW (6U and 16U-class) and EPIC LINK (6U/8U) platforms are the vehicle families for this line. Space-Data-as-a-Service (SDaaS) positions AAC as the satellite owner-operator, with customers subscribing to data products rather than purchasing hardware.

The SDaaS model is exemplified by the Wyvern agreement (2021, GBP 8.4M over four years): AAC owns and operates three EPICHyper 6U satellites carrying hyperspectral payloads and delivers imagery to Wyvern for agricultural applications.[^wyvern-contract] The VIREON constellation, launched March 2026 on SpaceX Transporter-16, extends this model with 16U-class satellites providing 7-band multispectral imagery at 1.5 m GSD from 500 km SSO for land management and agricultural monitoring.[^vireon-page]

The group's subsystem supplier AAC Omnisys (Gothenburg, acquired 2021) is a specialised developer of passive microwave radiometers, with heritage on ESA's Arctic Weather Satellite and MetOp-SG. In March 2026 AAC Omnisys was awarded a EUR 76.3M subcontract from OHB Sweden to deliver 20 microwave radiometer instruments for EUMETSAT's EPS-Sterna weather satellite programme, a contract that management states triples the order backlog.[^eps-sterna-nasdaq]

As of Q1 2025 the group employed 214 people; FY 2025 revenue was SEK 310.8M. In December 2025 Bonnier Capital became the largest shareholder following a strategic unit investment of up to SEK 140 million.[^bonnier-press]
