Remondo

Remondo is an Israel-based commercial EO company founded in 2022 that develops high-resolution imaging payloads and satellite data services.^[1][2] Ido Priel is co-founder and CEO.^[1][3]

The company's core technology is the Partial Aperture Imagery System (PAIS), which uses coded phase mask light modulation combined with proprietary nonlinear deconvolution to achieve sub-30 cm ground sampling distance from compact LEO smallsats.^[4][3] The approach is claimed to reduce system costs by two to three times compared with traditional optical designs; these figures are operator-stated and have not been independently validated.^[4]

Remondo is developing a 1-meter aperture optical payload integrated with PAIS technology, designed to be bus-agnostic.^[4] A first demonstration spacecraft is targeted for early 2027 to validate sub-30 cm commercial imagery in orbit.^[3] A planned LEO constellation of approximately 32 smallsats, targeting 20-30 minute revisit times, is contingent on successful demonstration.^[4]

Planned data products include direct imagery access, ad hoc tasking, and persistent monitoring delivered as a data-as-a-service model.^[5] Target applications include sovereign defence and ISR, disaster response, commercial business intelligence, and location-based services.^[6]

As of a June 2024 report, Remondo had a downstream imagery distribution partnership with DGI Geospatial Intelligence; the current status of this agreement has not been independently confirmed.^[3]
