FY-4B seven-channel geostationary rapid-scan VIS/IR radiometer for one-minute selected-area meteorological imagery.
Geostationary High-speed Imager is the FY-4B rapid regional imager for selected-area geostationary meteorology, separate from the full-disc AGRI imaging payload.[1][2] It acquires 2000 x 2000 km regional frames at one-minute intervals for fast-evolving systems such as typhoons and severe convection.[1][3] The instrument has seven channels: an all-colour 0.25 km channel, five visible/NIR/SWIR channels from 0.445 to 1.64 um at 0.5 km, and one 10.3-12.5 um thermal channel at 2 km.[1][4] GHI imagery has demonstrated atmospheric-motion-vector production from FY-4B observations.[1]
