Valk VHR is cosine's microsatellite-class very-high-resolution Earth-observation electro-optical instrument, with a first demonstrator planned for the Dutch PAMI-1 defence mission.
Valk VHR is an electro-optical very-high-resolution imaging sensor under development by cosine for the Dutch Ministry of Defence PAMI-1 microsatellite mission. The sensor targets very-high-resolution imagery from a microsatellite-class platform; exact GSD and spectral band configuration have not been publicly disclosed by cosine. A companion TScout HP thermal infrared payload is planned to fly alongside Valk VHR on PAMI-1. The instrument was publicly unveiled during a ministerial visit to cosine in June 2025, and the cosine-Dutch Ministry of Defence strategic contract for the in-orbit electro-optical systems was announced in the same period. PAMI-1 is targeted for launch in early 2028; Valk VHR is pre-launch as of mid-2026.[1][2][3][4]
